Mock Trial

*Goals, Vision, Mission Statement: Mock trial gives interested students an opportunity to learn about the legal system and courtroom procedures while working with practicing attorneys. Students improve speaking and presentation skills, their ability to analyze a set of facts, and construct logical arguments. The primary goal of the Mock Trial Team is to prepare for the Colorado Bar Association sponsored competitions. The attachment describes the competition format and rules for judging.
Mock Trial seeks students who are interested in careers in law or who simply enjoy participating in courtroom style debate. Last year, 16 students participated (teams can have up to 12 members for competition). The team is open to any student who is interested. Attendance at meetings is essential to participate in the competitions; however, students may miss meetings as long as they make up the material covered.
